José Nunes Ramalho Croca nasceu em Cabeção, concelho de
Mora, Distrito de Évora em 1944.
Licenciado em Física em 1973 pela Faculdade de Ciências da
Universidade de Lisboa,
doutorou-se em Física em 1985,
por esta mesma faculdade, defendendo uma tese intitulada O Efeito de Túnel
na Formulação Causal da Mecânica Quântica. Em 1986 passou a Professor
Auxiliar do Departamento de Física da Faculdade de Ciências de
Lisboa, e em 1998 realizou a agregação na
área de Física pela
Universidade de Lisboa.
Foi recentemente galardoado
com o
Prémio
Santilli-Galileu 2008 - Gold Medal, for The Crusading Work Towards the Demise
of the Prevailing Scientifc Obscurantism (ver
entrevista)
e com
o
Prémio Federação Internacional Racionalista, FIR 2008, pelo seu trabalho
na
promoção da Razão. É membro fundador do
CFCUL,
